Ms. Walker has been working in Washington, DC for about 15 years, as NM Senator Jeff Bingaman's health policy person, and then for the Office of Drug Control Policy.

Prior to working in DC she was a professor of nursing at the College of Santa Fe's BSN completion program, was the New Mexico Nurses Association's lobbyist for a number of years, and was able to get statutory prescriptive authority for nurse practitioners in to the nursing practice act, and later to get independent practice and independent prescriptive authority in to the act for NPs.

She has served as a role model and mentor to many. We're so happy she is back with us in New Mexico.
